BASEBALL

  • Holiday Baseball Camp with professionals C.J. and Satchel McElroy of the Cincinnati Reds organization. December 27, 29 and January 2, 3, 4, 2019. 9am-Noon. Ages 7-12. Fundamental baseball training covering pitching, hitting, fielding. Cost is $175 per child. Field 1 at the Gilruth Center. Click here to view flier.

  • Preseason Baseball Camp - Saturday, January 5, 2019. 9am-Noon. Ages 7-12. Come prepare for the upcoming season! Coach, Chuck McElroy former MLB professional pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. Cost is $75 per child. Field 1 at the Gilruth Center.

  • VeloPro Pitching/Hitting Ground Force Training - January 7-30, 2019. Every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30pm-7:30pm at the Gilruth Center.  Ages 10-13. Training will take place outside. All participants must purchase a VeloPro harness (if don't have one) for $99. The VeloPro harness is included in registration as an add on. The regular price of training with out the VeloPro is $75. Total cost of training is $99 + $75=$174. To learn more about the VeloPro CLICK HERE. Participants will use the VeloPro harness to learn how to properly utilize and feel leg drive/power to increase hitting power and pitching velocity. The trainng teaches the kinetic chain which simplified means that power comes from the ground up and is released into the ball (legs>core/trunk>shoulder>arm>wrist/finger>ball/bat). Coach, Drew Dobbins (Bachelor's in Kinesiology with coaching minor; Master's of Education in Sports Administration; Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist). 

    Add a video breakdown comparison analysis with voice commentary and corrective strategies for $10 during registration. The video will be taken and sent to the parent directly.

  • Hitting League - January 11-February 8, 2019. Every Friday from 6:30-7:30pm. Ages 8-13. The hitting league will last five weeks. Week 1 will go over rules and practice rounds.   • Big League Baseball Camp - March 13-15. 9am-Noon. Cost, $150. Ages 6-12. The theme of camp is ‘pro day.’ All drills covered on days 1-2 would lead up to a mock pro-day baseball tryout, so kids can experience what the pro’s do during a tryout. It’s fun competition where certificates for most improved, and otheres will be awarded. Examples of drills include: running 1st-3rd for time, throwing from right field to third base – arm strength, live hitting, live pitching, sprints for time, etc.

  • MLB Jr. Home Run Derby - Friday, April 26 starting at 6:30pm. FREE. Come meet 2018 National Champion and Gilruth Center participant Cade Climie! Two age divisions 14U and 12U.   • MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Competition - Friday, May 10, 2019 starting at 6:30pm. FREE. Ages 7-14. Boys and girls. Competitors compete in four age groups: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14. Age is determined as of July 17, 2019. Baseball and softball divisions. Competitors get points for pitching and hitting a target, hitting for distance, and running from second base time home. BASKETBALL

  • Jr. NBA Skills Challenge (Friday, January 18, 2019). Starting at 7pm. This event is FREE and open to the public! The Jr. NBA Skills Challenge provides boys and girls the opportunity to showcase their fitness through a dribbling, shooting, and rebounding skills competition in the sport of basketball. Boys and girls compete separately in two different age groups: 11U and 13U. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place award winners in each age and gender group are submitted and advance to a Regional Competition. All players receive a player participant card. Those who win their age and gender group receive award certificates.

  • Adidas New Years Basketball Camp - Jan 2-4. 9am-Noon. Join us as participants get to use a weighted shooting vest! Wearing a weight vest can improve the execution of shooting a jump shot by providing a few different training applications that aren't as easily replicated with free weights or other types of resistance equipment. The vest also doesn't interfere with your arms or shot. The will also work on developing your shooting, passing, dribbling, conditioning, and footwork. Gilruth Center basketball gymnasium. Cost $115.   • Parent/Child Basketball Tournament - Saturday, July 20. Starting at 9am. Open to parents and child 8-13. Age Divisons will be set based on registrations (8/9, 10/11, 12/13) Cost is $20 per team of two. Winner receives a championship trophy. Played on half court to 21 points. To view rules click here.

  • TNBA Fall Basketball League (The National Basketball Academy) - September 7-October 26, 2019. Games played on Saturdays at the Gilruth Center Gymnasium. First week are evaluations/draft. Starting the second week, teams play one game per week, and on the last week we have our playoffs/championships. There will be a league director on site who make sure all games a running on time, etc.

FISHING

  • Check back soon for registration! Fishing camp. Date TBD. Clear Lake Park. Shoreline fishing. Ages 8-12. $125. Catch and release. Kids need to bring their own pole, line, and reel. Limited number of poles to borrow. Camp will teach kids how to cast, reel, set a hook, bait a hook, take fish off of hook, different types of baits and techniques to catch a fish, and make your own bait. Parents will drop off their kids at Clear Lake Park between 8:30am-9am. Camp instructor will be accompanied by the camp director to ensure safety. Camp will supply tackle (hooks, bait, etc.) and snacks.

    Campers will need to bring: 
    • Fishing Pole, reel, and line
    • 1-2 T-Shirts
    • 1 Long Sleeve Shirt
    • 1 Swimsuits
    • Cap and/or Visor
    • Sunglasses
    • 1 Pair of Sneakers and/or Sandals
    • Bookbag
    • Sunscreen
    • Bug Spray
    • Water Bottle
    • Snacks

SOCCER

  • 3v3 Live Soccer Tour Tournament. Under the Lights. Saturday, June 29. One day tournament. Starting at 2pm. Gilruth Center. Teams are maxed at six players. $185 early early registration (ending $185). All teams play a minimum of four games. All players will receive an official 3v3 Live Soccer Tour tournament t-shirt.  (t-shirts not guaranteed for teams that register after the final deadline. The top three teams in each division will receive custom medals for each player. Top 3 teams in each division will qualify for the Regional Championship of your Choice. Adult and child/teens teams are encouraged to play.

We can host your next tournament or event at our venue!


We have 3 softball fields, 1 grass infield youth baseball field, 1 soccer field, a 9 hole disc golf course, and 1 indoor basketball gym. All our fields are lighted with concessions, spectator areas, dugouts, and restrooms. Other options may include indoor conference rooms, and outdoor pavilions.

YARD WARS SUMMER CAMP

  • Summer Yard Wars Camp - August 5-9, 2019. 9am-Noon. Ages 6-12. $125. Each day features a new epic game! Games include: Nerf Tag (Yard Wars, LLC), Laser Tag (CurbGames), Bubble Soccer (Bubble Bump Houston), slip-n-slide kickball, water gun cup race, booger dodgeball, frozen t-shirt race, drip drip dunk, blanket run, pac-man scooter tag, and more!
