">Starport league sports, one of the more well known programs of the NASA Exchange, provides an opportunity for the Johnson Space Center workforce and surrounding community to participate in a wide variety of competitive events. Over 40 leagues are scheduled every year. 
A person or team can participate in just one sport or many, depending on schedules and interests.  A complete list of the league sports offered can be found below and can also been seen by

All Starport league sports participants will be required to create an account on

NOTE: A free live support button is available on the right side of all pages, please use this button if you encounter any difficulties.

To create an IMLeagues account:

  • Go to
    Enter your information (you may use any email address, but DO NOT USE a email address)
  • You will be sent an activation e-mail, click the link in the e-mail to login and activate your IMLeagues account.
  • You should be automatically joined to NASA – Johnson Space Center – if not, you can search by clicking the "Schools" link.

How to register for a League Sport:

  • Log in to your account.
    • Hover your mouse over the “Register” button at the top right of the page.
    • Click on the "NASA – Johnson Space Center" tab to go to Starport’s IMLeagues page. Scroll down to see the current sports open displayed – click on the sport you wish to join. Choose the league you wish to play in (Men’s, Coed, Open, etc.). Choose the division you would like to play in (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, etc.).
    • You can join the sport one of three ways:
      • Create a team (For team captains)
        Captains can invite members to their team by clicking the "Invite Members" link on the team page. Any invited members must accept the invitation to be added to your team.
        • If the person has already registered on IMLeagues, search for the person’s name, and invite him/her.
        • If the person has not yet registered on IMLeagues, scroll down to the "Invite by e-mail Address" box, and input the person’s e-mail address.
        • If the person was on a previous team of yours, select that team in the drop down menu and select the individual(s) you wish to invite.
      • Join an already created team by
        • Using the Join Team button.  This button will be displayed when you hover over the “Register” tab.
        • Accepting a request from the captain to join his/her team.
        • Finding the team and captain name on division/league page and requesting to join.
        • Going to the captain's “Player Card” page, viewing his/her team, and requesting to join.
      • Join the sport as a Free Agent
        • You can list yourself as a free agent in as many divisions within a league as you'd like. You will be visible to all members of the site and can request to join teams, or post information about yourself so teams can request to add you to their team.

Making a league payment for a team:

  • After a team has reached the minimum roster requirements and successfully joined a league, the team will be required to make a payment
    • Payment Option 1 (ONLINE)
      • Select the "Pay Now" Button on your team's page
      • You will be redirected to PayPal
      • Proceed on the PayPal site to make payment (All service fees will be included)
      • After making payment, you will be redirected back to the website]
    • Payment Option 2 (At the GILRUTH CENTER)
      • Proceed to the Gilruth Information Desk PRIOR to the registration deadline for your league
      • Payment options include cash, check, credit (Discover, Visa, MC)
  • Upon completion of the payment, your team will be confirmed for the league
  • Failure to make payment by the registration deadline will result in the team not participating in the league
  • Refunds will not be made after the registration deadline

The Gilruth Center facility is a multi-use recreation and conference facility and is used for a wide variety of services, programs, and events which enhance the morale and welfare of all JSC civil service and contractor employees, authorized visitors, as well as the local community.   

The Gilruth Center is officially part of the NASA - Johnson Space Center.  The Gilruth Center is located on federal property and is considered a federal facility.  All rules, regulations and policies of a federal facility apply to the Gilruth Center facility, indoor and outdoor.
