Bike To Work Day 2017

Participate in JSC’s 2nd Annual Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 12th, 2017.

Join your fellow cyclists on site during National Bike to Work Day in an effort to promote alternative transportation!

We are organizing group rides from the municipalities surrounding JSC to encourage novice and advanced riders alike to be involved in Bike to Work Day. We will have bike route champions work with you to make sure you’re prepared to ride to and from work, and lead you on the safest route the day of the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. I have little riding experience. Can I participate in Bike to Work Day?

Yes, we are accommodating all experience levels of riders! We will work with you prior to the event to make sure you have all the right gear, know the bicycling laws, and connect you with a group to ride in to work!

2. Where will I leave my bike?

We will stage bike racks outside of Bldg 1 on-site for you to lock up your bike! This will also serve as an advertisement to those on site of the amount of people that rode into work.

3. What routes are planned?

The current routes we are outlining can be seen here. However, we will adjust the routes accordingly to accommodate where participants are coming from. We will also add more routes if we have registrants coming from alternate areas.

4. What should I do with my work clothes for the day of the event?

You have a few options. You can wear a backpack while you’re riding that contains all your work clothes. Another option is to bring your work clothes in the day before and either leave them at the Gilruth in a locker or at your desk! Both options are very doable, and the bike champions will work remind you prior to the event of your options.
