The magic in every camper comes to life as never before when they are empowered to be as creative as they were all born to be! Black Rocket has twenty years of experience designing camps in the S.T.E.A.M fields. Every program is powered by the camper’s innate imagination and designed to bring their ideas to life in a fun, hands-on learning environment. From concept to creation students will demonstrate their masterpiece to the world at the end of each week! All Black Rocket programs mirror real-life experiences and the collaborative nature of the design process. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Play-Well TEKnologies was founded by Tim Bowen in 1997. Introduced to the LEGO® building system in 1996 and recognizing it to be both a popular play medium and a tremendous learning medium, Tim began to develop projects which drew on his professional experience and combined the elements of fun, challenge, and learning. He began operating a summer camp program in 1997, followed by after school enrichment classes in 1998. With steady growth of the company, project development is now undertaken by a staff of instructors bent on constantly improving the programs.
Mad Science of Houston
Mad Science was founded in 1985 in Montreal, Canada by two brothers, Ariel and Ron Shlien. For over 30 years, Mad Science has developed science programs that are kid-tested and approved. From our humble beginnings to the present day, we have always believed that hands-on, fun STEM experiences form the foundation of a lifelong love of science, technology, engineering, and math!
Our mission is to inspire children through science, sparking lifelong imagination and curiosity. As the leading children’s science enrichment provider, we envision a world where, every year, 5 million children experience Mad Science.
The STEAM Generation
The STEAM Generation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that brings the wonder and excitement of STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) to children ages 4-14 through a variety of hands-on learning experiences.
Our mission is to advance K-12 education through high-quality and enriched educational programming immersed in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics).
To provide a hands-on, innovative learning environment in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), which maximizes potential, expands opportunities, and ensures students are equipped to meet the challenges in the world around them, especially in underserved communities.
Youth Tech Inc. originated in 2001 near the cornfields of Iowa where the camp's founder was working on his master's degree in Education Technology and instructing computer classes at North Iowa Community College (NIACC). It was at this time that the camp founder was asked by the college president to put together some sort of computer training for school-aged students which started the concept of the week long computer camp. The camp was also used as a research project for the founders master's degree and research the best methods for teaching students high end computer skills. In Iowa , the camp grew each year thanks to a strong partnership
with NIACC and the camp's founder. This camp is still offered in Iowa through the community college and takes place in July.
In 2005, KC Camp, Inc. filed and received non-profit status serving the greater good and offering thier camps at a fraction of the cost of for-profit computer camps.
In 2007, KC Camp, Inc. official changed its' name to Youth Tech Inc. The name change is an effort to increase their presence outside of the Kansas City area. Even though the name of the camp has changed, the mission remains the same, "to providing high quality, affordable training for students with a passion for learning, giving them a competitive advantage in the field of their choice."
