Youth Dance Classes

All students will learn basic body movements through warm-ups progressing to combinations in the center of the floor and across the floor with family friendly, age appropriate music.Turns and leaps are incorporated in combinations, as well as taught separately.


Youth Dance (4-8)- These classes are introductory in nature are specifically designed for recreational students. These classes offer an alternative to recital and performance programs. All students will learn basic body movements through warm-ups progressing to combinations in the center of the floor and across the floor with family friendly, age appropriate music. Class sizes will be kept to a minimum to ensure all students receive individual instruction needed to progress at a level commensurate with their abilities.

Day/Time: Saturday/3:00-4:00PM

Price: Early: $55 session – ends December 10th

          Regular: $70 session

Duration: 5 weeks

Youth Dance (9-15)- These classes are introductory in nature are specifically designed for recreational students. These classes offer an alternative to recital and performance programs. All students will learn basic body movements through warm-ups progressing to combinations in the center of the floor and across the floor with family friendly, age appropriate music.           Regular: $70 session

Duration: 5 weeks

Youth Recital Dance Program (4-8)- Recital Dance Program gives students an opportunity to build on basic movements that can be incorporate into a dance routine. This session will culminate with a Winter Dance Recital at the Gilruth Center's Alamo Ballroom, December 2016. Students will be require to attend a minimum number of classes in addition to showing routine proficiency before session ends. Performance dates, times, and materials TBD.

Day/Time: Saturday/3:00-4:00PM

Price: Early: $165 session

         Regular: $210 session(class fees can be paid in monthly installments)

Duration: 12 weeks (Session opens soon)

Mommy & Me Dance- This preschool ballet and tap class is designed to teach leadership, discipline, grace, and motor skills while having fun! Students and parents will receive ballet and tap instruction at each lesson and learn basic dance steps with terminology.

Day/Time: Wednesday/9:10-9:50AM (Ages 2-3)         Day/Time: Wednesday/9:50-10:30AM (Ages 4-5)

Price: Early: $55 session – March 22, 2017

          Regular: $70 session

Duration: 5 weeks

 


About the Instructor:

Lesa Mueschke-

  • Competition Judge for Star Systems National Talent Competition

Lesa Mueschka has 48 years of experience in instructing dance with an in-depth knowledge of all phases of dance. Lesa has owned DanceSations studio since 1978, where she teaches students in various forms of dance both for recreational levels as well as competitive levels. Her goal is to give students a well-rounded instructional program.

She is committed to helping students learn the art of dance and grow as individuals through encouragement while teaching and mentoring.
