Videography / Home Video Editing

Videography/Video Editing is an 6 hour introductory course geared towards adults that covers the basics of current high definition cameras and editing platforms for both MAC and Windows platforms. The class meets 4 consecutive weeks for 2 hours each week (insert day and time here).

Time will be devoted to basic principles of videography and camera operation as well as basic editing concepts and principles. We will cover Videopad Editor from NCH software. The software can be downloaded and used without charge for two weeks ($49.95 to purchase). During the  video editing potion of the sessisons, we will discuss Pinnacle 14, 19 and 20 which is available at local retail stores under the name Dazzle or Dazzle Home Edition.

We will also discuss the various types of cameras, maintaining your camera kit and situations you may encounter in shooting video in various circumstances such as power and memory card management. In video editing, analog video capture, computer memory management and distribution of completed videos will be discussed.

Everyone is wecome!  Feel free to invite your family and friends.  You do not have to be a Starport member to take this class

About the Instructor:          

Television Engineer, Harry Shelton is a independent video producer, published author and former Technical Director for KRIV-TV (Fox 26).  Harry worked on News, Sports and Entertainment telecast for over 15 years before writing and publishing "The Invention of Television", a non-fiction historical account of how television came to be invented in the United States and Europe in the early nineteen hundreds and producing a number of educational videos, training tapes and commercials for various clients across the country for broadcast cable and the internet.
