Our new Club Policy Manual is now in a 'Notice and Comment' period for 30 days (until December 13). Please review the manual by CLICKING HERE. Current clubs and those that wish to create a club are encouraged to submit any feedback to Drew Dobbins, email@example.com before December 13.
After the notice and comment period, Starport will review the suggestions and consider any changes. Once completed, the new club manual will officially go live and released. Timeframe for final release is late December 2018 or early January 2019.
Clubs promote and develop the interests and skills of their members in a specific area. Clubs can be competitive, recreations, or just social fun.
Clubs are required to follow specific guidelines outlined by Starport and the NASA Exchange-JSC.
Clubs are also required to have a strong following to sustain the club.
Clubs must appoint officers (ex. president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer). The club officers develop a specific constituition dedicated to its club for its members to follow.
The mission of Starport NASA Exchange-JSC Clubs is to provide the NASA employees, partners, contractors, and their families with the opportunity to learn, practice, compete, and socialize for fun and/or at various competitive levels while developing organizational and leadership skills of their chosen area of interest.
HOW TO START A CLUB
To register a group to become an official club sport, follow the club manual. All groups must have 10 dedicated individuals ready to participate in the club.
Once all the documents from the check-list are complete they need to be turned into the Sports, Clubs & Outdoor Recreation Lead.
