Wellness Program Manager, Jessica Vos , is responsible for oversight, integration, design and implementation of a consolidated Wellness Program for all members of the JSC team. The JSC Wellness Program, Exploration Wellness, is aimed at increasing the total health of the JSC workforce.
Exercise Scientists, Larry Wier, Ed.D and Greta Ayers, M.Ed. All our fitness specialists are degreed professionals in the area of exercise physiology or a health related field. They have obtained certification from one or more of the following professional organizations: Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, National Strength and Conditioning Association. The exercise scientists develop, monitor, and evaluate the exercise programs for a variety of specific populations within our Starport Fitness membership population.
Fitness Director, Richard Wooten , supervises and coordinates the day to day activities and operations of the Fitness department ensuring that the Gilruth Center delivers a high quality experience to all members. This also includes coordinating the planning, organization, implementation, promotion, and evaluation of the Group Exercise and Personal Training programs.
Sports and Recreation Director, Steve Schade, supervises and coordinates the day to day activities and operations of all recreation programs and league sports offered within the Giltruth Center, as well as leisure services and the rental of Gilruth Fields and Gymnasium.
Lead Fitness Technician, VACANT, oversees all of our fitness technicians, which are degreed, certified, or working towards a degree in a health related field. Our fitness technicians help monitor exercise programs for members of Starport Fitness. They are always available to provide guidance, encouragement, reassurance, and safety as members work towards their individual fitness goals.
Facility Manager, Chris Fowler, is the point of contact responsible for ensuring the general safety of the building and, through coordination with appropriate line management, the safety and health of that building’s occupants. The FM or acting Alternate is charged with the authority for ensuring the proper coordination and safe conduct of all activities taking place in or around the assigned facility, such as testing, operations, construction, modification, repairs, or maintenance.
