| Once an eligible Johnson Space Center (JSC) Starport patron enters into a particular program with a discount provider participating in the JSC Starport Employee Discount Program, the eligible JSC Starport patron is responsible for dealing directly with that provider regarding concerns or issues of any nature. Vendors participating in the JSC Starport Employee Discount Program are authorized to provide discounts, but JSC and Starport does not endorse or sponsor any of the products or services included in the program and is not affiliated, associated or connected in any way with the sources of those products or services. JSC Starport patrons need to contact vendors directly with questions, concerns, comments and/or complaints. The JSC Starport Employee Discount Program is to be viewed as an avenue linking eligible JSC patrons to discount opportunities. Although neither the JSC nor the JSC Starport Employee Discount Program is responsible for precise details of any vendor offer, Starport seeks input (praise, criticism, etc) regarding discount products. Starport will take certain products off the list if the entity is not responsive to patron’s concerns or complaints. |
| Who is eligible for these discounts? |
This program will be open to any badged JSC/NASA employee on and off site. Even employees on medical or any type of leave will be able to use the program as long as they have their Official Government ID. Spouses and dependants are not directly eligible for these services but through the benefit offered to the badged NASA employee/ retiree spouses and dependants do benefit from the program. Contractors must possess a JSC badge. Johnson Space Center contract employees are encouraged to research benefits through their parent company first. If discount opportunities do not exist through the parent company, the Johnson Space Center Discount Program may be used. |
| Can I continue to use this benefit after I leave the company? |
Only individuals eligible to retire may continue to enjoy this benefit after leaving the company. This is defined as someone that is 55 years of age or older that has 10 or more vested years service with Johnson Space Center. If your termination from Johnson Space Center is due to a company violation you are no longer eligible for this benefit regardless of age and/or years vested. Please note that if you are engaged in a contract agreement with a particular discount vendor at the time of your departure from Johnson Space Center, your agreement with that vendor continues until your vendor contract formally expires regardless of your eligibility to use the Discount Program. Contract agreements between discount vendors and Johnson Space Center employees/retirees are not related to your employment status with Johnson Space Center. Examples of these include cellular phone agreements and agreements with Internet Service Providers. |
| How much will I be charged to join this program? |
As a JSC employee, your cost is nothing. Due to the strains of everyday life, we think that is payment enough. If, in fact, a card is required for any company’s discount, it will be available in Starport Gift Shops located in Building 3 and Building 11 to pick up during operating hours. |
| How to I obtain these discounts? |
Each offer will contain redemption instructions within the description field. In most cases you will only need a code or register your information with the company. |
| Can I access the Discount Program from my home PC? |
Yes, as with all Starport websites you can view them at home as well as your work PC. Go to: http://starport.jsc.nasa.gov. |
| Are there expiration dates associated with the discounts offered? |
If an offer has an expiration date, it is located in the offer description field. Please note that companies may change the products based on availability. Many of the shopping categories will rotate their inventory to offer the best deal. |
| Whom do I contact if I am not satisfied with a product or service I obtain through this program? |

| Am I getting the best deal through this program? |
As a savvy consumer you are ultimately responsible for determining whether or not you're finding the best deal to suit your individual needs. We all have shopping choices whether it's purchasing a home or dinner at your favorite restaurant. The Johnson Space Center Employee Discount Program is attempting to provide you with opportunities to save time and money and in no way infers or guarantees that offers included in our program are the absolute best deal around. We offer this service as an additional source to find the best deal. |
| Will there be more offers in the future? |
We are building this program from the ground up; therefore, discount offers may seem minimal. New offers will be added as received so be sure to check back often. Please be patient while we continue to grow and know that this is a continuously updated program. |
| I know of some vendors who would like to participate in this program. How can they be involved? |
Companies will have to sign a one-year agreement to keep the discount available to the employees for the entire year. The contracts will be renewed every January as long as the program is continued. This will be considered a closed program in that all companies will be considered, but not all will be accepted to the program. The availability of the special should be available for an entire year as agreed with the company providing the promotion. The company must provide the discount at the times agreed to any employee. The company must be as specific as possible as to what the deal is. EX: 20% off a pair of tires, which tires, if not any pair? |
| I don't see any discounts that pertain to my specific need. Is there a way for me to suggest a discount? |
Please send an email to feedback button. We will be more than happy to consider your suggestion. Please enter as much information as possible as this will help us help you. |
| Whom do I contact for more information? |
Most of the programs list a point of contact for their specific program. Please contact the venue directly with specific questions regarding an offer. If you need general information about the program, contact Lisa Rasco at 281-483-9364. |
